Feelings are important. They tip us off to things that might be wrong. They enable us to connect and empathize with others. They color our world with variety, giving our lives a richness and depth beyond merely functioning like a robot. Without feelings, life would be boring.

The tricky thing is feelings aren't always right. Even though they are important, valid, indicative, they can deceive us. Just as emotions are part of being human, so is the ability to feel a certain way that doesn't line up with reality. We need something outside ourselves to ground us and to guide us - the Truth - what is right, according to God. Without truth, life would be chaos.
.
The feelings we experience while going through infertility can wreak havoc on our hearts and mess with our heads. Friends, let's not walk through this mental battlefield unarmed. God has given us a way to check our feelings and guide our steps:

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-think about such things." ~ Philippians 4:8
.

The road of infertility is one that can easily rob couples of pleasures, joy, and a deeper intimacy with one another. While we struggled to love one another well, we had to learn not to idolize one another by expecting from the other what neither of us could give. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Walking through infertility requires that you show your spouse, and yourself, much grace. You grieve differently, you respond differently, and you express your feelings differently. It’s like waves crashing against the cliffs – one of you might stand tall, firm, and stoic while the other crashes and breaks.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Put your spouse’s grief before your own. Talk to your spouse about how he/she processes feelings, things that happen.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

We like to plan: parties, careers, fitness goals, meals, families.
.
More often than not, our best laid plans turn into our greatest treasures - things we prize and crave and worship. When we grip our plans like a vise, putting all our attention and devotion toward what we want, we turn our eyes away from Christ and close our hearts off from the desires and plans He intends for us.
.
Friends, Jesus is so much greater than any goal we could ever hope to reach – even having a child. He is loving and kind and holy, and invites us into fulfilling, abundant life in Him.
.
When we fix our eyes on Christ as we make our plans, God moves into our surrendered hearts that desire His perfect will above our own. He promises peace, rest, and fullness of joy when we seek and find His presence.
.
As we chart out our next vacation or the weekly dinner menu or the day we hope to bring home a baby, let's hold those plans loosely, keeping our grasp on the Rock of our salvation. He is the best plan for us. In hope, Jenn @jennmhesse (National team @waiting.in.hope)

He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away. This is truly one of God’s best and most beautifully gracious promises to us within scripture. Promising that He will make all things in our heart and life- new, maybe not this side of heaven here on earth but in Heaven with Him it will be the way it was always suppose to be. Then in verse 4, “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will no longer exist; grief, crying, and pain will exist no longer, because the previous things have passed away.”

YES THANK YOU JESUS! How do you need Him to make things new for you? Or has He (please share) write it down for all of us to see and rejoice, sometimes we need to stand on others testimonies of His truth and dependability.
